I look up and I see them running in two opposite directions to catch K, another 4 year old.
They later told me that they were playing a game of 'Monster, Monster' where Ash and Yu were the monsters and were trying to catch K, who kept escaping their grips. At some point, the three of them would also convene and discuss, and change roles, or change the area where they were playing for more space and access.
What looks like a regular game of catch, without even realising, is embedding a lot of skills in our children, such as team work, planning and strategizing, creativity, problem solving, and space awareness and visualisation.
How lovely, that a regular game of Catch can invoke and activate so much in a child.
What games do you remember playing as a child? How did that develop you?
