Mission Child Vulnerability
Creating Empowered Individuals
‘The true character of society is revealed in how it takes care of its children’.
- Nelson Mandela
The different levels of governments have made policies and laws to ensure safe spaces, but is that sufficient? If we take a peek at the awareness levels when it comes to children and their holistic safety, there is a lot more that can be done.
We do trust the adults to make the the space safe for the children but we seldom do enable children in creating safe spaces for themselves.
Hence we came up with Mission Child Vulnerability- For the children, By the children and Of the children.

The children who not only saw it as opportunity but also as their responsibility, embarked on this journey with us. They earned their places in the mission by showing their intent, learning new skills, doing research and understanding the problem at it's core, meeting people, constantly reflecting and learning empathy.

Through months of hard-work and deliberation, we chose to focus on: Right to Health and Nutrition, Right to Education, Right to Participation and Emotional Wellbeing of children.

What we have done so far |
We visited a child helpline center and understood what really happens behind the closed doors of Child helpline number-1098.
When it came to action, as they say, change begins from home; we began taking actions at our own school. We began with the emotional well being of children within the community through empathy houses held by facilitators supported by empathy scouts chosen among the children. We held sexual awareness workshops, introduced activities run by the children for the children everyday morning inorder to start the day resourcefully. Our quest to contribute towards Right to Health and Nutrition took us to the Non Governmental Organization - Hasirudala, who support the community of waste pickers. With the community’s support we could collect and contribute INR 61000/- and 51 KGs of pulses. |
