Young Changemakers' Summit
What is this Summit about?
We, the Sparkling Mindz community, believe that every child is a changemaker and we are working towards making this world a better place, one mission at time. Our children have been exploring purpose-based missions in the areas of Climate Change (TRUI), Healthy Eating (SMP), Child Safety (MCV) and Stories and Us (CSP). Each of these missions want to reach out beyond the SM Community to connect with like-minded individuals and hence, we are hosting the Young Changemakers' Summit Edition 1, starting in 2023. |

As part of the Summit -
On Day 1 each participant chooses a cause which is called a mission track that they are passionate about. Each mission has a different set of informational sessions, interactive workshops for your child to experience
On Day 2, e-Stalls for a Cause and the panel discussion on purpose-based career pathways is open to all participants irrespective of the mission track chosen.

Why should I register my child?
In today's world, more than ever, every child needs to find a place to belong and contribute beyond themselves. Usually this is a physical space but it doesn't have to be. Through our experience of working with children, we know that children find a sense of purpose in contributing beyond themselves to problems that impact the world. Problems large enough for each of us to sit up and pay attention and deep enough to provide space for each of our contributions. What if, every child identified with being a changemaker? Your child can come and experience changemaking in action and open up to the world of possibilities for themselves.
When you register your child for this summit what will they learn and experience?
1. Informative Sessions: The child will get the primary knowledge about the key burning issues within the Mission track chosen. This will provide an overview of the area.
2. Immersive Workshops: The child will get hands-on experience of creating small but effective solutions to specific problems within the Mission track chosen. This will be the first or one of the many ways in which the child can start doing something tangible and actionable in his/her journey of changemaking, by learning some processes and skills.
3. Reflections: The child will get the chance, space and facilitation required to reflect on their learning and wonder about further possibilities.
4. Peer-Interactions: The child might be able to meet like-minded peers and start becoming part of a purpose-based community (which is not easy to find, especially for children).
5. Panel Discussion: The child will be able to understand, ask questions and think about what it looks and feels like to build a career as a changemaker during the panel discussion.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can my child and I attend only one of the days of the summit?
Both the days put together introduce a child to the different causes and hence, it is good for a child to attend both the days to get a holistic view of the causes being offered through the missions. However, if a parent wishes to attend the panel discussion alone on Day 2 along with their child, we will consider the request subject to the availability of seats. Higher preference in the summit will be given to someone who is choosing to attend both the days.
2. Is it compulsory for the parent to attend the summit on Saturday?
No. It is not compulsory. Your child can attend by themselves too.
3. Will the panel discussion be recorded or shared?
Yes, it will be recorded. The panel discussion is being recorded and the highlights of the discussion will be shared on social media.
4. Can students from out of Bangalore apply to the Summit?
Yes. We encourage children and parents from outside of Bangalore to apply and join the Summit. It is an online event.
5. What if my child gets bored during the online event?
The event has been designed to help your child connect and stay engaged. The event is for children who have an interest and/or would like to take interest in the BIG problems as well as the solutions that are tangible for students to implement on their own. It will leave them with a head full of ideas and a lot of self-empowerment (all of which you can do a lot with).
